Curél Lotion I vs II vs III: Which Moisture Level Should You Choose?

Choosing between Curél Lotion I, II and III? The useful starting point is the finish you prefer, not the assumption that a larger number means a better product. These are three alternatives within the Japanese Intensive Moisture Care lotion range, rather than three steps to apply together.

These descriptions reflect the manufacturer’s labels. They are not measured hydration scores, irritation rankings or a promise about how each will feel on your face.
1. Lotion I: the lighter-feeling choice
Kao’s Japanese page identifies I as “ややしっとり,” roughly a lightly moist feel. Its listed bottle is 150ml, with Japanese product identifier 4901301236043. This is the option to investigate when a rich-feeling lotion is not what you want.
That does not establish that I controls oil, prevents acne or is the safest version for reactive skin. Those are different claims from a texture preference.

2. Lotion II: the middle option
II is labeled “しっとり,” or a moist feel, on Kao’s Japanese page. Its bottle is also 150ml; the identifier is 4901301236197. Choosing the middle option is a practical preference, not evidence that it suits every skin type.
The Stylevana US bottle-and-refill listing accepted orders when checked, but displayed an estimated dispatch time of 14–21 working days. That is not immediate availability for dispatch, and it is not a delivery estimate to your home.

3. Lotion III: the richer-feeling option
III is labeled “とてもしっとり,” or a very moist feel. Kao lists a 150ml bottle with identifier 4901301236180. It is the logical option to compare if you prefer this end of the texture range.

What does “for sensitive skin” mean here?
Kao places this range within Curél’s dry-sensitive-skin care. The three Japanese product pages list fragrance-free, colorant-free and no added ethyl alcohol formulations. Their ingredient lists include allantoin, glycerin, betaine and eucalyptus extract; they also list a paraben preservative. Do not describe these products as preservative-free.
This manufacturer positioning is a reason to consider the range, not a guarantee against a reaction. We have not compared irritation rates or tested these lotions ourselves.
Check the bottle, refill and market before ordering
The shopping links above are sets, not single bottles: each retailer listing specifies a 150ml bottle and a 130ml refill. I and III showed “In Stock” and Add to Cart in the retrieved listings. II showed Add to Cart with the longer dispatch estimate noted above. Prices, stock and shipping can change; check your destination before paying.
The manufacturer pages describe the Japanese products; we have not independently inspected the retailer’s physical stock or batch labels. Compare the current packaging, exact variant and ingredient list if a particular ingredient matters to you. Do not assume similarly named regional products are interchangeable.
A bundle is not automatically the best first purchase. If you have never used the product, check whether a single bottle is available before committing to a refill too. Follow the refill pack’s instructions and use the matching bottle.
Choose one step, not all three

Kao’s directions for these lotions specify gentle application after cleansing, using three to four pumps. Follow the package directions for the product you receive. Avoid use on damaged or irritated areas; discontinue use if a reaction develops and seek professional advice when needed.
